There is Scientific Research on My Coping Mechanism

Another Coping Mechanism
I've started doing something that, if it was presented to a psychiatrist I'd probably be prescribed some kind of coping drug.
No, I'm not drinking again. That's behind me.
I worked way too hard to quit smoking to pick it up again.
I'm too much of a coward to experiment with drugs.
I realising how much of a demisexual I am so, coping with sex is out of the window. Even masturbation requires a certain kind of porn.
Eating, well, I've unlearned (or at least I think I have) my internalised fatphobia so I've worked through any kind of unhealthy relationship with food.
So none of those... But it isn't "recommended". Perhaps even raises concern.
But it gives me relief! GOOD GOD it gives me relief...

SO Peculiar
I have to share this peculiar reaction when I used to come out to some straight men.
Despite my effeminate disposition, the shocked reaction was almost ubiquitous across my coming out to men.
But there were a good handful that also pitied me.
Reflecting on it, I've just come to realise that comphet dictates that we are ALWAYS seen as less than, regardless of whether it comes from a place of malice or a place of empathy. Both equally harmful because while one cause active damage, it is visible and hence avertible meanwhile the other protects complicit queerphobia and is thus insidious... difficult to move, impossible to dodge... gets unpredictably violent when agitated.

Is there such a thing as vanilla kink?
Preface; this is may be a tad bit NSFW and a tad bit TMI.
You see, not to be the queer person so warped in semantics that I now have to define my sexual kinks but I have suddenly begun to wonder, purely out of frivolity, if having any kink makes me any less vanilla.
Not only am I the most sexually vanilla queer person that I know, I am also, in every fathomable manner, the most sexually inexperienced queer person I know. I may give decent "jobs", I may kiss ok, I may even embrace well but I am very much a novice under the sheets. I've also never had it, or given it from behind...😏 Perhaps it's this inexperience that has made me as vanilla as I am. I don't like anything pain, or hard and heavy, or musty smells, or dirty, or degrading, or extreme. I like everything to be nice, soft, smell nice and look clean, if not beautiful. Vanilla!
Which is why, finding out that I had any form of kink came out of left field for me.
Just Me knows about my eerily exclusive attraction to hairy forearms, nice butts, and dark complexion.
So, and this is the TMI portion of the entry, here's what Just Me doesn't know yet;
I've enjoyed posh wanking from my teens.
I've had this fantasy of restraining someone and having my way with him. On crisp bedding, in a room filled with aromatherapy and ambient lighting.
Oil massages. *takes a deep breath* ooooo.....
I love, wait, listen, LUHHVHHH underwears. Any thick hairy men in mesh boxers, oooouuuffffffhhhh...
I have a vesthi kink. GOD, do I have a vesthi kink!
Precum drives me NUTS!
More recently found out that abstinence, edging and someone else being edged sends me to another realm. ANOTHER REALM! I wouldn't let someone else edge me because I want the control but edging. YES!
So my point is, does having any of these kinks make me less vanilla? Because all of the above also needs to happen nicely, softly, tenderly, on nice sheets or in a clean environment that needs to also smell wonderful.

I am to be blamed too
Every single person I have known that have been more than an acquaintance are/were misogynistic. Internalised misogyny is still misogyny.
This includes me.
A pitifully miniscule number of them have made strides to unlearn. The rest, as of my latest encounters with them, have stayed the same.
My whole life, I've been told, by my parents, teachers, friends, and elders, that women have ideals to fit into. Even when not methodical and lucid, simply saying that women shouldn't <insert anything men can do, not simply defined by capacity but also by societal norms> though not limited, fall within these "ideals". And those that do not fit, are fit for reproval; snide remarks, implicit judgment, outright displeasure and whatever else fancied one's whim barring assault.
When I finally came to the realisation and subsequent acceptance of my transness, I had to unlearn this.
MANY TIMES OVER.
Every time I catch myself forming a disapproval look/thought/idea at, say thighs on display for example, I give myself a proverbial knock on the head and realise that them thighs on display are FABULOUS! Women can and should wear WHATEVER they please WHEREVER they want to.
I keep defaulting to women's clothing because being sexually androphilic did not help this ONE BIT! It disproportionately contributed and fostered my misogyny. My misogyny was never rooted in "women cannot accomplish goals", I was always taught that women should not be/act "a certain way" while accomplishing those goals. And when I think of my misogynistic ideas and thoughts, it is women's clothing that I primarily picture.
Imagine telling an individual assigned male at birth, socialised as a man, and sexually attracted to masculinity, that it is distasteful for women to show off their bodies. They AGREE because, not only were they laughably attracted to masculinity as epitomised by a wide walking stance, interest in sports, and not crying, but also because they'd rather men parade in tight skimpy shorts or semi-transparent vesthis................. Oooo, semi transparent vesthis........ Oooofff.....
For them, on all accounts although not explicit, men are better than women, even if "women can accomplish all that men can too". And when normalised, it becomes virtue, truth, rightfulness. *facepalm*
Hence unlearning. Common and normal isn't correct and right. Not that I am correct or right. But we all agree misogyny is bad and so misogyny in all its forms must, ergo, be bad. Be wrong.
People don't ever unlearn because, when people are themselves common and "normal", they accept all that it is common and "normal" within their societal status quo as inherently right and correct. And this is further unshakeable the closer one is to being, able-bodied, neurotypical, cisgendered, heterosexual, male, rich, from the majority race, thin and fair-skinned. Being excluded from all these groups except being able-bodied, I had to realise at a certain point that life is just harder not simply because I wasn't putting in enough effort but because I'm bogged down by so many systems of oppression.
And so I learn, and unlearn.
I got to thinking about this because in the coming weeks I'll be in the presence of a misogynistic, fair, cisgendered, heterosexual (for all intent and purposes), able bodied, thin, fair man, who has my mother convinced that her sinuses are bad because she got the Covid vaccine booster dose and not due to catching the virus itself (which she did, and I did too). Further exacerbating the situation is the fact that I convinced my parents to get the booster dose prompting my mother to become at odds with me every time I verbalise my disdain for the misogynistic man. Whether or not my mother is actually unhappy with my disdain for this man because I convinced her to get the booster dose is, to me, immaterial.
Yes, a misogynistic man.
Not just from his comments and views in general...
...but because being a fair, cisgendered, heterosexual, able bodied, thin man...
...why would he ever unlearn misogyny.

Today's bad
Today's been bad.
I thought I was all cried out.
But realised I hold it in these days because if I start crying, I won't be able to stop.
I feel guilty for ever saying this out loud but my life is so shit.
So shit.

Ya, I am still mad
As someone who's been visibly plus sized for a brief couple of years, and predominantly obese MY WHOLE LIFE, I empathise with individuals afflicted with eating disorders, anorexia and bullemia.
What I don't appreciate is people calling themselves fat as a casual jab when they indulge in food or skip a couple of workout sessions.
It is a such a sweeping declaration of their superiority.
Because it automatically implies being fat is beneath them.
And they, VERY CONSCIOUSLY, believe they're better than everyone fatter than themselves.
Wouldn't matter if they see fat people as their intelligent and socio-economical equal.
Being fat automatically nullifies the equal playing ground!

My Emancipation
I still frequent Facebook. There are some people there worth keeping up to date with. It is still very relevant where I come from. Not necessarily with gen z but millennials and older are still very much on it. And many things still go viral on Facebook.
So a bisexual friend of mine, who's married and has come out to his wife about his sexuality mind you, had the audacity to leave a comment making fun of a transgender individual tying the knot akin to Hindu South Indian customs to a man. This trans individual also had facial hair and looked like they were presenting as non binary which I believe invited the slew of queerphobic comments. I am also being a tad bit presumptuous as she may also identify as a trans woman.
All that was to simply preface my anecdote.
Now, my emancipation comes in the form of being able to block someone on Facebook.
And as I age, I do not stall. The click is exceptionally prompt.
Especially when I see a queerphobic rhetoric. It doesn't even have to be explicit queerphobia.
And that gives me an overwhelming sense of catharsis.

So often
I have to talk myself off the ledge.
All the time.
I would never jump because I am too scared.
I hope there comes a time in my life when ledge is a little further away.
Because it has been very close the past couple of years.
I've learn to deal but alas it is isn't ideal to say the least.
But all so I don't jump.
I won't.
But the ledge is near.

Thailand, You GO THAILAND!!!
Thailand,
First Southeast Asian country to legalise same-sex unions!
Second Asian country to legalise same sex unions.
The country lead by tolerance with Buddhism as its underpinning has never discriminated against the LGBTQIA++ albeit social norms where we still remain outliers.
Slowly but surely we're picking up on our non-discriminatory origins and the re-assimilation of queer people into society.

Can't wait to be 65
I don't expect to make it past 65.
My entire being finds so much comfort in this.
But if I do.
I am smoking again.
YES!

Love Yourself but Not If You're Fat?
GET OVER FATPHOBIA!
If someone's value is depleted to you simply because they're fat
YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE!!!
Calling someone fat isn't an insult!
YOU'RE JUST AN ASSHOLE!!!
Fat people being sexy is valid and if you use "brave" to compliment them,
YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE!!!
We're SYSTEMATICALLY oppressed!
BMI is antiquated!
I can't tell you to be attracted to a fat individual.
But if you compliment a person to be more attractive only if they were/became thinner,
YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE!!!
Superfluous punctuation was intentional.
Thank you for coming to my TEDShout.

I am Judgmental
I am beginning to hate the word "non-judgmental".
There's a very insidious undertone to not "judging" someone. Often used against the marginalised to "not judge" them for their "lifestyle", the subtext of this is, people who are disabled, 2SLGBTQIA++, and racial minorities are inherently abnormal. People who practice polyamory (not to be confused with polygyny) and sex workers ought to be included here too. Sure, none of the above mentioned groups of people are common but implying that any of them are abnormal is classist at best and racist, homophobic, transphobic, and ableist at worst. And no, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism is not simply causing inconveniences to people within these groups. They cause thousands if not tens of thousands of needless deaths around the world.
Now I'd say, let's judge!
Let's judge the men who think they're better than women.
Let's judge pedophiles who molest children.
Let's judge racist law enforcers trained in exclusionary supremacist systems.
Let's judge murderers who kill transwomen.
Let's judge!

Still 2018
In reference to this previous post, https://hansondaren.blogspot.com/2021/05/2018.html it's been four years since I last had sex.
In all honesty, I miss it, I do.
But at this stage, I'm at a place where if it happens, it happens.

Wow, this is a New for Just Me, more Kinks discovered
I am slowly realising and revealing my sexual kinks.
Today I realised another while scrolling through the app catered to gen z.
And because I watch a lot of 2SLGBTQIA++ content, white leftist creators are inevitable.
This sweet, bless him, God awful looking white man turned up on my "for you page" and almost immediately a banter unfurled and concluded in my head in under a minute.
Wow, he's ugly.
But I wouldn't mind doing him.
Wait why? He's white and skinny.
Why am I intrigued, what's doing it for me...
Ok, he's got facial hair.
But he's still white! And so pale to add!
So why?
Oh wait.
Look.
Ah... I see.
Oh... (quickly scrolls through in my head the men I've been with and realised that was indeed something I am turned on by. ALL of them had this)
OMG, ok, time for a Just Me entry.
So here's it is. Hairy forearms.
And everyone I've been intimate with, I have vivid, albeit completely overlooked memories of playing with their hairy forearms. And as I did I remember feeling a warm fuzzy tingly feeling in my chest spreading right down to my stomach.
Oh God I miss that so much...
As much as I am sex averse, if someone manages to get over my stubborn demi-sexual wall, I actually enjoy physical proximity. I love smelling men's hair freshly shampooed.

I Love the Twist of Fate
During my adolescence, I grew up with my brother alongside two sibling cousins; a boy and a girl. We grew up together not just because we lived nearby and were close in proximity but also because all four of us were born within a four year period. Two boys, one girl, and a misfit non-binary child who naturally developed a proclivity to hang out with the girl. Not to be presumptuous but I say two boys and a girl because not only did they embraced their excruciatingly traditional gender roles, but because they developed no signs of gender dysphoria.
The four of us, being related on our mother's side of the family, were bestowed with ignorant, bigoted Christian relatives. A byproduct of that was Christmas gifts. The boys would receive the exact same gifts typically along the line of toy guns and cars, the non-binary child would receive what the boys got because, you know, they have a penis between their legs, and the girl would get a distinctively different one. Usually pink, often something that fit antiquated gender roles and many times makeup related.
See here's twist of fate I find so exhilaratingly ironic! I have several fold more makeup than the people that gave her that gifts, plus what my cousin owns. Having also done her makeup for her engagement ceremony, her frivolous wedding dinner and for her aforementioned brother's wedding, in a cathartic reversal of traditional gender roles, I, GAVE her, makeup tips!
I find myself secretly bemoaning several missed opportunities during the times I did my cousin's makeup to take a jab at my Christian relatives by proclaiming,
"Funny, she was given the toy makeup sets as a child while I got the toy guns!"

Growth
From dissecting my perceived fetish to realising a preference.
You're negatively fetishised only if you're from an opressed minority being objectified by a member of the oppressing majority.
So a white man fetishising Asian or black men.
Being initially prompted to scrutinise my affinity towards darker skinned individuals here https://hansondaren.blogspot.com/2019/06/i-found-out-something.html I thought my attraction meant I was afflicted with racial fetishism.
Turns out, there's no such thing as fetishising a group you actually are part of especially when the group is also marginalised and oppressed.
