One that got to the point without too many diversions.
And I stumbled upon it by chance.
The previous post on my coping mechanism has been studied in psychology, with full length research papers.
Apparently, the most common reason it exists is because overwhelming negative emotions are immediately abated after performing said coping mechanism. Calm and relief also accompany or follow the abatement.
I was flabbergasted that someone managed to perfectly formulate sentences as to why I do what I do and what I felt after doing it.
I say I stumbled upon it by chance because I decided to investigate this coping mechanism with an undiagnosed condition that I am unequivocally certain I have.
Good to know that when I get help in the future, psychiatrists would be equipped to handle it owing to its apparent widespread existence.
