Popiah.....
I fell in love with this quintessentially Chinese dish a few years back thanks to Cookies and Cakes and i have never looked back since...
Spring rolls as it is more popularly known, the perfect combination of bean sprouts, finely-diced tofu, tiny fried shrimp, sweet turnip, and a signature condiment, topped of with the sweet turnip broth. Served piping hot!!! HEAVEN!!!

Chutney is Pesto Not Mango Stew!!!
"Your creative juices are flowing tonight," so says Cookies and Cakes.
My creative juices....hmmmmpphhhh, never knew i could be referred to as having an abundance of original ideas to pen down.
Creative juice #1,
I have been having conversations with Mr. I'll Wink And You'll know and i must say, our situations share stark similarities; some instances at which i could've screamed, "YOU DID NOT JUST SAY THAT!!!". Nevertheless, i controlled myself from throwing my judgments on him, his directions and his convictions; it would defy everything I've ever believed in. Similarities in two separate lives could not possibly progress to being identical; reading his portrayal of the predicament he is in, reminded me of the Hdaran i knew almost 3 years ago. If the worst does happen however, i shall be a friend, like how many people have been for me, helping me cushion the worst of my falls. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and went on being the ever so attentive person i pride myself to be. *sticks tongue out*
Creative juice #2
And then we have Sunbear II, which has, so predictably, evolved into almost everything my foresight has seen into. Two weeks of constant messaging ended when i was too busy to reply. I should have known better; a person who holds back a lot usually has a lot of unsettled issues, and boy did he hold back. I remember telling Cookies and Cakes about this recent "camaraderie", IF i might say so. "He isn't like Ex-Bf, his silence is one like that of Ever-Present Hysterical Gal's," I told him. Silent people come with issues of indefinite proportions; its either they silently solve them or just do what i sometimes do, sweep the whole ruddy thing under the carpet. One did enjoy his company though, it was a flash Godbro, his voice, his looks and his words. He reminded me of the pleasurable things i did cherish with Godbro. Late night private conversations, sometimes just observing each others' silence and playing songs that we loved. Texting each other in time intervals that was almost sublime; it almost made me hope that this might actually work out.
Creative juice #3
What would one name someone who's hopeful of her so called boyfriend while he ignores her calls, sends an occasional (so occasional, she'd be lucky if he did) message her on a popular social network website, sends an occasional text message and manages to melt her with that meager effort to move one's finger and spend literally a penny or less??? Love is blind i suppose. CRAP!!! And here she is whiling her time away, sacrificing on good food to slim down for him, sending him inspiring messages, and relentlessly calling him in the hopes that he does pick up (he does, let's not be patronizing; but does it suffice to say it is usually once in a purple moon???).
Creative juice #4
Grandmothers; both equally annoying, equally strong characters and equally attention seeking and yet its like the sky and the sea; they only meet at the horizon, never compromising their take on life. Maternal grandmother: she is one huge fuss-pot!!! Things have to be the way she wants it to be and if it isn't she goes on nagging until she tries to grasp the situation and make it her own. Never successful when she stays over at my place but she tries nevertheless. Ever so obsessed about her deteriorating state of health; she is insomniac at times and has this constant fear that she will not be able to find a clean bathroom whenever she is brought out. Persistently drives my mom up the wall with her complaints, she is one big happy mess. Her pros would be her spot on perfection in Indian cooking; her dhals, tofu sambal, stir fried okra, sweet and sour shrimp paste, chicken and fish curry.
*wham*. OK, i needed that slap.
Paternal grandmother also shares this similar trait, and she has her own specialties; mango paccedi, more commonly referred to as mango chutney which i think is ill-fitting because chutney is actually pesto made from dried chillies, curry leaves, desiccated coconut, seasoning and a choice of flavouring; green chillies are most commonly used. While the mango chutney, aforementioned, is a thickened sweet and savoury stew of sour mangoes with an array of spices and chilly powder. Her other hits would be her halwa, an Indian dessert (very sinful; contains copious amounts of clarified butter and lots of cashews and raisins), her chutney pesto, her salted fish salad and many more. The cooking isn't the only thing my grandmothers have in common; my paternal grandmother is nonetheless a mess herself. She was the iron-lady whom raised 7 children single handedly when her husband (he will only remain her husband for me) decided to leave her for his mistress. Selling nasi lemak and kuihs, cooking for weddings and functions, and occasionally receiving help from my maternal granma, who was back then, a very good family friend. She has become a bitter old lady whose only intention is attention, lots of it. Of course, she has the right to be heard, noticed and loved, which is exactly what baffles me; she has been given all that she could ever need!!! I know for a fact that all her grandchildren adore her and all her children tend to her needs, so, why the bitterness??? In contrary to her in-law, she doesn't nag or throw a tantrum, instead she gives you the silent disapproval; a treatment that leaves most of the people who visit her annoyed and beyond. My mom has this theory that she has lost her touch with proper emotions and feelings after her husband left her stranded with nothing but carnal pleasures (one still wonders) and 7 responsibilities. She has nothing to look forward to in life and wants everything she missed out then, now. So my mom says. I just feel that her children aren't being tactful enough in handling the unnecessary rackets she throws, but then again, one can only have so much say.
*got stuck at the ending*

For A Good Laugh!!!
Old high school friends whom left an impact on my life was suddenly crossing through my mind and for some strange reason i wanted to write about it. What actually started it was an attempt to tie loose ends with a friend via MSN Messenger. Cookies and Cakes if you are reading this then i hope you do have a good laugh.
Cookies and Cakes and I used to name a lot of our peers and educators in a very condescending manner. Well, sue us!!! None of them would ever find out. Well, not all of them at least.
And the list starts with *drum rolls*
#1 Bespectacled Snake - thanks to CnC this was one that always got the best of me...
#2 Dancing Teacher - Gawd!!! I am yet to see anyone who can walk like that... "Aiya that day i fell in the drain, aiyoooo so painful la!!!!"
#3 Tomboy Junior - I actually told this person and she had a good laugh. Good sport!!!
#4 Mrs Dumbo - HAHAHAHAHA, Another teacher; when she does teach it goes somewhat like this, "dumbo dumbo dumbo dumbo dumbo dumbo dumbo!" (in various intonations and tone) We never forgave her for educating the black board more than she did part knowledge to us.
#5 The Singing Teacher - When SHE teaches its like listening to a songstress... " Punca kuasa 'a' tambah 'b' *tone goes up* kuasa ialah dua 'ab' *tone goes down* tambah dua 'a' kuasa dua *tone plateaus for an added drama*, tambah dua 'b' kuasa dua *and big finish*!!!" Imagine that with the intonation of a Malay ballad.
#6 The One In The Red Saree (and with white jasmine flowers too!!!)- he was placed in the top class because of causing so much of racket in his former class. A discipline teacher thought he may make progress mingling with the best in the school of our grade.
# 7 Ah Choo *sneeze* - Our Art Club teacher and that WAS her name!!! Always adorning fashion from the 70's paired with some of her huge belts and her bob-cut hairstyle. Always made us laugh and we did it on her face!!!
#8 Charlie's Angels - three of them actually and i preferred the original version, E, K, D...
#9 Ah Hah Owh Butterfly x2!!! - i shall say no more!!!
#10 Princess Jasmine - Metro Me's sister, morphed into a very beautiful woman currently.
#11 Lohan Fish Boy n Mum - CnC used to do an impersonation of the LOHAN fish and boy did we have a good laugh!!!
#12 Dappa - my obese cousin sister who is even more obese currently (if that is even possible).
I'll let this sit with you first Cookies and Cakes and boy, any further ideas i shall definitely be writing it down!!! This is FUN!!!

The Bath
Even if i have given most things in my life a thought, uncertainties pursue every possible plan. Nonetheless, we don't stop planning, we don't stop hoping, we are engineered to survive.
(The opening note had to be nice, the least.)
I hate my wardrobe!!!!!!!!!! I feel like burning all my clothes, i don't fit into anything!!! My better shirts are way too large (i wouldn't blame myself, one never imagined, in the wildest of dreams that one would achieve this current body size). My smaller shirts are so 15, that becoming of age period; experiments, malfunctions, untrained eye for colour, cut and style. My jeans are hand-me-ups; a few pairs my younger brother do not fit into (now this is when pigs should start flying; the brothers switched shoes; a situation never foreseen, not even remotely). I don't have a proper pair of dress up pants; the only one in current possession is another hand-me-down, my dad's. Imagine how that fits me now!!! Sadly, i am in no position to afford revamping my wardrobe. Studying is great but one thing that sucks is that you're left penniless.
Maybe i should just count my blessings instead. Cookies and Cakes had this bout of anger venting; one i have not seen in years, "NO!!! I feel that poor people cannot afford to be in love!!! Its a privilege!!! When you can't put food on the table, a roof over your head and some clothes on your back, how can you be perturbed over something as intangible as love??? " Although that statement seem to imply that half the people in this world are not love-worthy, he didn't mean that. What he really implied was ME and Stylish Mistress; in so much financial boundaries (although we both agreed that my crisis was pretty meager compared to that of Stylish Mistress's); can still afford to wail away our emotions and time about how depressingly erroneous, choices in our lives, have turned out to be. Priorities asshole, priorities!!! Enough said, if i am in no position to rant on about love (and in that course, exhaust myself of my emotional, mental and physical strength; oh yes, crying and wailing is very physically demanding for me), then i am in no situation to be contemplating luxuries; good clothes. I should live for my betterment, not my deprivation; my happiness; not my miseries...
I am in a time of my life when everything is...well......basically.........uhmmmppphhh............SHIT!!! BUT, but, but, but.... i am also at my prime, strong, able, fast, furious, unbeatable!!! When else if not now that i go through S-H-I-T???? I can handle them... When you crawl out of a puddle of mud, all soaking wet, covered with dirt, arms and legs bruised, smelling incredibly nauseating, and utterly wrecked, you think to yourself, FUCK IT!!!!!!!!!!!
But think bout it...
...when you scramble up, onto your feet, drag yourself back home, trying to brush off gnawing, condescending looks, and you get home, your mom starts scolding you because you have been so careless, blind, bloody clumsy idiot she says, and you manage to get out of your best tee (sobs for that comfy Padini) and into the shower. You then turn on the shower, rinse like your body was covered in poop, scrub with copious amounts of perfumed shower foam, and repeat it at least two more times, just to knock off that feeling of disgust. You then walk into your room with air conditioning, put on some body talc, take a deep breath and say to yourself, "MAN, that was the BEST shower EVER!!!" You'd feel accomplished and dwell in being refreshed and rejuvenated. What something as simple as a bath can do for you...
I am bathing now...
Puddle of mud: Mr P.
Mom: Mom, and Cookies and Cakes
Staring strangers: Friends who keep on going, "What happened to you??? Are you ok??? TALK TO ME!!!" Which sometimes translates to, "HAHAHA, look at you, you're so pathetic!!!"
Your best tee: Love (there will be another chance at either a Soda, a Giordano or whatever not).
Shower: God and lots of love from the people who care...
Air con and talc: i dunno, we'll see how accomplished i become and feel....

I am Lucky
I was experiencing yet another sleepless night because of a dog howling in the neighbourhood… Sigh, I am reduced to sleeping in the hall with mosquitoes preying on me, AGAIN. What a feast I must have been to them. Yes, I sleep in the hall when my future sister-in-law comes staying over in our place. She is afraid of the dark and so wriggled her way into sleeping with her boyfriend. They actually proposed I sleep in the room and they take to the hall but to allow a full-grown woman to be sprawled across the living room every morning in a night gown didn’t seem to be the greatest of ideas; not to me at least (by night gown I mean those “fugly” colourful ones Indian “aunties” adorn, and sometimes even manage convince themselves that they look good). Especially, what if visitors come knocking on our door in the morning; we could come across inconsiderate if not cruel (by ‘we’ I meant my parents and I; allowing a guest to nap in the hall). My nights in the living room became inevitable, almost imperative.
One good progress to this whole circumstance, however, is that, I can now escape to my living quarters in the varsity campus I currently pursue my Masters Degree at. My own bed, table, personal space, and absolute freedom; a mere 30 minutes drive across the sea. Unlike those times almost a year ago when I had to sleep in the living room every other day for duration of three months; a short working stint for my future sister-in-law during which she became a paying guest at our place. I was in a bad state, not to mention, an expanding waistline, heartbreak, constant suffocation by my parents to further my education, no source of income, and sleepless nights similar to this one. Things were so bleak then; my future, my life, my goals. All that seemed to matter at that point of time was the predicament I was in; having to force myself to be separated from Mr. P. Gosh; he still seems to be popping up isn’t he???
I called Metro Me a yesterday evening and was so glad to hear his voice. I related to him my latest revelation and spoke to his Canadian friend; they were preparing for exams together. Metro Me has never been this composed and collected, never in the 10 years I have known him has he exuded such calmness. Metro Me was never the person to ponder things over and rationalise over and over again. He was always full of certainties in a very uncertain way that others’ may perceive to be disconcerting, annoying almost. Alas, Cookies and Cakes, Metro Me and Hdaran never made up “others”; which is why the three of us probably bonded so well together. We saw each other for the persons we were instead of the norms and conformities society, in general, throws at people. Well into interests that dumbfounded most of our peers, we were always in a class of our own, or probably more like in a world of our own; a confusing mixture of ill-fitting equilibriums.
Metro Me had this way of reassuring me that I wasn’t all that hopeless; not in recent events but even way back when we were 17 and young. He has always admired my tenacity and tolerance, something even Cookies and Cakes found to be astounding. He told me that I should give myself a pat on the back for even going to such heights for the person I loved. Rest assured, hearing his voice always gave me an inner vigour, that I can, or rather SHOULD, get up and face whatever it is that lies ahead. Even if Metro Me HAS mellowed down tremendously, he will always be the person I look to when I am picking myself up. Always have… My deepest falls and struggling back on to my feet has always seen Metro Me and Cookies and Cakes on either side. Metro Me always shoving my feet to take steps one after another and CnC always leading the way.
My salutations to the two souls whom have departed love and care without any expectations; Metro Me and Cookies and Cakes, after everything we've been through, all we can only do is grow up without growing apart. Agreed???
Lucky

Do you hear me,
I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday
And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Electrician Training Class + Acquaintances
I missed Optimistic Always, which i hope is on its way to becoming what it has been initially named, and on that note a few updates, so to speak...
I attended an electrician training class. ME!!! Who would've thought!!! What i initially thought was going to be an excruciating surreal blur ended up being one of the most informative classes i have sat through in but a mere 5 hours...
If i might add;
#1 When stuck in a fire, lie down; oxygen saturation is highest anywhere from 6-11 inches off the ground.
#2 Don't mock firemen whom spray water on adjacent houses (what makes us think we can do their job better); they're trying to salvage the rest of the buildings from getting caught on fire. Wet buildings (like wet paper; try the experiment, light up a wet paper, see how long it takes to burn), don't heat up easily.
#3 CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) can be a lifesaver. Every student in our schools should be thought how to perform it... On dummies at least...
#4 1st degree burns = epidermal burns
2nd degree burns = dermal layer burns
3rd degree burns = hypodermal layer burns (where our fats reside; if only losing weight was easy)
#5 Fire rooting to electrical reasons is to be put out using CO2; water is an electrical conductor.
And a whole lot more which if, i were to mention is going to be sheer boredom...
First page on safety regulations: Theory class for electricians in training.
The class in session.
I have been making so many new acquaintances (one does not wish to call them friends; you don't just make friendships, you earn them).
Acquaintance(s)
#1; a bunch of heartfelt individuals all drawn together by a similar interest, music.
#2; Ms. Sincere Inadequacy; she has some makeup tools i am drooling to get my hands on!
#3; Mr. I'll Wink N U'll Know, nice young chap with lots of potential.
#4; My next possible (remotely) suitors for the absence of my former varsity's gang of loud men. Lo and behold, the WC gang (WC=World Cup-final; my first meeting with them).
I am liking life as it is... Being at peace with myself is so rewarding...

God speaks through Cookies and Cakes!!!
I have been suffering with this one thing for so long (a year to be exact) and only today, Cookies and Cakes managed to bug the hell out of me that i blurted the matter out.
Tale: I promised Mr. P that i'd settle his education debts amounting to over RM3k so that he'd be able to graduate this year. But alas, since Mr. P wanted it to be done in a way so as to not expose the fact that he needs the sum for himself i have been working under false pretences all this while. For example, talking to people for money for myself, getting funds for projects, and getting paid for sex (i promised him i'd get him de money even if i had to put myself on the line) etc. God must have been keeping a close eye on my activities as all of these attempts only resulted in futile outcomes. Then just three weeks ago, the stress became insurmountable that i was breaking under pressure. My neck turned stiff, i had acne breakout (the worst i've seen in years), my diet was all over the place (either over-indulging or starving) and pre-eminently disconcerting status updates on a popular social networking website. Beat myself up over no apparent reason and rendered oneself, in most instances, incapable of performing at his best. In a nutshell, gave up life!!!
So happened that i have been asking God the question i am almost certain everyone does, WHY ME???
And he answered...
Although there was nothing astonishing surrounding the enlightenment (if i may say so), perplexingly enough (for me), it came from Cookies and Cakes. I was so intimidated of the resulting dismal-cum-horrific expressions of disbelief if Cookies and Cakes was to find out that all along i have been indeed spoon-feeding Mr. P. So alarmed i was i hid this part of the story (or in other ways was being frugal with the truth), so as to avoid such consequences. I am an escapist; always sweeping my dirt under the carpet rather than to dust it out and clean them off (which makes me re-think my blog name, which in current predicament, is so inept). My stint of keeping the "dust bunnies" under the "carpet" ended a few hours prior to blogging this entry.

Myself: Ur drivin over aren't u?
How much can a person take??? I called him right away; though i didn't keep track of the amount of times i did. AND he kept on diverting my calls!!! After the "ump"teenth attempt, halleluja, he picks UP!!! And with that started my answer from God through the mysterious ways He does; through my best friend, Cookies and Cakes...
It has been this one thing that i was not ready to face, the fact that i was holding on to Mr. P because he needed me. Being needed made me feel important and significant that i risked it all to be loved losing so much along the way. Mr. P made me feel wanted, needed, important and let's not blame him; i was ever so blind. I should've realised that in being present and providing him a bed of cushions to fall on, i've denied him of the all-important reality check. Life's tough sometimes, and we just have to face our fair share of shit!!! And mind you this was his shit!!! It was like a light shone upon me (even i am sick of typing out all these phrases of philosophy only to revert to my past being)....bla...bla...bla...
The few revelations Cookies and Cakes knocked into my head effortlessly (please don't judge me after reading this, one has been emotionally masked to see the truth for the past three years);
#1 Sometimes, doing the best thing for someone you love is by doing nothing at all. (don't spoon-feed him, he needs to learn to mature, as have i to learn how to compartmentalise my emotions and responsibilities)
#2 Think three steps ahead in every prominent decision you make in life.
#3 The best thing to do may not always be the right thing to do. (Yes, i would love for him to graduate but not at the expense of not learning a life's lesson he HAS to)
#4 Being at peace with yourself will manifest when life's challenges doesn't knock you down.
#5 I need an outlet to cope with stress.
It really felt like God spoke to me, through Cookies and Cakes...
Knockout stages!!!
No, this was not started to rant about the World Cup 2010, although i must say, Brazil's exit was not what i was looking forward to. Anyway, following the World Cup is but a trivial matter compared to heaps of tangles needing solutions in the back of my head, although i must express the immense pleasure one attains knowing the finals are finally approaching!!! It shall be a social event i look forward to!!!
So the story so goes that i had an arrangement to meet up yet another senior of mine (I have like hundreds of seniors, but this was one of the more significant ones, much like Miss Cries My Heart Out), BSc Physics graduate, Mr Surya Look-Alike-minus the washboard abs. And he is very much socially engineered like Mr. P is and having said so was looking for a place to get a good massage. I have this thing about a very thin tolerance level for personal space and people servicing me; people never touch me but for 4 reason; #1 adjust my makeup (very rare occurance, my stage makeup is almost invariably flawless); #2 hugs, #3 dancing; #4 haircuts. So i don't ever see myself getting a massage, let alone allowing someone get to my genitalia/crotch/carnal regions (points to Mr P and the next possible sexual endeavour/partner; whichever comes first.) Yes, Mr. Mr Surya Look-Alike was looking for such contentment.
WHO CARES!!!
I was being a gracious host because Mr Surya Look-Alike was from down south and also because has always managed to amuse me with his adaptability (something Mr. P can never pull off). Already being a person of such an obliging nature (Cookies and Cakes wants my tolerance level), i was even more persuaded to do this good deed of driving him around in the last night he was in town, my town!!! So i did. Another congruous fit to the scenario was Mr Fuck A-Lot (no effort was needed with this pseudonym because it fit the bill so well), a downright promiscuous guy whom epitomises the notion love transcends physical appearance. He is good looks shy of an average joe and yet has managed to woo women (plural) to sleep with him under the false pretences of a proper relationship. Besides his excessive tendency to overplay his capabilities (one has already acquired the craft of listening and then minimize the gravity of scenarios) he is pretty decent a friend (one has also realised no one is to be judged, not even Mr. P).
Enough about them, the thing that prompted me to start an entry was me and my adaptability. Saturday night, i was out with Cookies and Cakes with Miss 'Poh'bulous and Porn Barney, to an art auction house and then to Draghouse for some frivolous fun (although i must say i enjoyed 'Poh'bulous' company). Our occasional topics ranging from "being outright hypocrites" to current issues. And Sunday night called for a session of trivial remiscence of past alcohol-sloshing-activities to cigarette labels explored thus far. The idea may not seem contrasting but the scenario was evidently distinct; note: an hour glancing through the ingenuity of some of our locally revered artists in a classy heritage building to an hour of mere negligible content of conversations. A poignant thought vibrated through myself; i can do anything!!! Surviving a group of straight very stereotypical Indian men, whose hearts' i've managed to capture and mingling with people of proper mannerisms and explicit (well, almost at least) tastes and well-delved conformation of their selves...
I should be able to do anything!!!
Heading for the knockout stages next, first punch, odissi!!! I am serious about it now!!!
